I build environments for plants to thrive. I build systems and processes for organizations to thrive. And I listen.
For a long time I didn’t know those were the same activity. I only saw it when I stepped back and looked honestly at where my time had actually gone. Creating, noticing, adjusting. Over and over, at every scale I had access to.
I’m an organizer and a builder with a flair for the creative.
THE NAME
My own name, Mellissa Lynn, woven into something new. Eleven has followed me around for most of my life. The number I look up and find.
I stopped trying to explain it and named the work after it instead.
SAID PLAINLY
I’m better at creating the conditions for other things to thrive than I am at doing it for myself. I’m still learning that part.
I don’t think it disqualifies me. I think it’s why I recognize it so quickly in someone else, and why I’m not interested in standing on the far side of anything telling you I figured it out.
I’m in it too. Just further along on some days.
